6 Steps That Will Increase Your Happiness Daily

Do you believe you can actually increase your happiness? I’m not talking about living in a state of denial, but rather, being happy despite whatever challenges you may be facing.  There are some things you can do to make your day brighter. Here are six steps you can do to increase your happiness.

Sleep Enough

How do you feel when the alarm goes off early in the morning, and you’ve only had three hours of sleep. You automatically wake up in a bad mood because you feel tired, and know you have a lot to do during the day. Making sure you sleep for a minimum of six hours daily will add to your well-being. Sleeping enough will help you function at your best the next day.


Exercise does not have to be rigorous or demanding. A three-mile walk will add lots of value to your life. Put on your comfortable shoes and walk to the grocery store. You will be amazed at how much better you will feel. If you do this on a consistent basis, you will begin to see an improvement in your mood as well as a reduction in your weight, which is an added plus.

Time with Friends

Spend more time with friends as well as family. Particularly if being around them adds joy in your life.

Friends listen when you to talk which is refreshing, as well as having times to joke, laugh and just be happy.

Pray and Meditate

Take some quiet time to pray and meditate.  Do this first thing in the morning if possible.

If you continue meditating throughout the day, you will not be so overwhelmed no matter what comes your way.

Practice gratitude

Being thankful for what you have or what good thing just happened to you will increase your happiness.

Sometimes we forget how lucky we are and go about whining and complaining, and forget to be thankful for all the blessings that surround us.

Gratitude is a sure way to happiness.

Eat a healthy meal

I don’t know about you, but I always feel good when I now I just ate a healthy meal. Eating fries and hamburgers will make you feel guilty and unhappy because you know how many unwanted calories you’ve just added, plus the unnecessary oil you’ve ingested which is bad for your health.
